life with my now 4 year old!

Yesterday, my baby boy turned 4! I can't believe how fast time flies. Blake has grown up to be easy going, funny, friendly, kind, polite, fun to be around and so much more. He is enjoying pre school and making friends and seeing big brother at school. He is adventurous, not afraid to try things, very independent and smart. Every day you can see his personality coming out and he truly is a funny dude!!

I'm FOUR!
Last year.....turning 3!

Okay, so obviously I didn't post this the day after his birthday, January 14. Oh well......

life with the Fun Run.

Cole and Blakes' school has an annual Fun Run fundraiser for their school. Cole looks forward to it every fall, and I am sure Blake will follow in his footsteps. Last year Cole impressed all of us by doing 20 laps on a real 1/4 mile track. Yes folks, 5 miles in the one hour time that was given to him. When he first told us his goal, all I could hope for that he would get close and not be disappointed. But he did it and man, we were so proud. This year he had the goal of 23 and again, I encouraged him along, but thought, that is a lot to add in one year. And, well, Cole ran 24 laps! 6 miles! Awesome! He even let me run a couple of them with him, and we hauled the last lap together. It was so cool and so fun. I can't stop smiling at how hard he worked.

This was Blakes first official Fun Run as a student and he said he wanted to do 5 laps before he started, and this little guy did 10! I got to do his laps with him and along the way we got to walk/jog with other kids from the school. Cole's classmates, well mostly the girls, call Blake "Miniature Cole", so they love to come up and talk to him. Very sweet.

We are so blessed to be apart of this school and community! I am so proud of both the boys and the effort they gave, that far surpassed my expectations. They were both very tired boys that evening, but were both proud of themselves as well.

life in the pumpkin patch.

My mom and I got to go on Blake's first preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch! I have been out to Stoney Rigde Farms a couple times with Cole and his class and now it is fun to redo this experience with Blake and grandma Connie as well. They got to learn all about the farm, the apples and pumpkins, see and feed the farm animals, go on a wagon ride pulled by a tractor and play in a corn maze.

life in the fall......so far.

I love summer. That's it. Actually I do have some things I love about the seasons changing, but here in the northwest, summer is NOT long enough and then the rest seems to mesh all together. The fall season does bring soccer back for Cole and he has been doing that and having a blast. I am no longer coaching, as I really just wanted to be a soccer mom, bring my chair to the games and cheer my son on. I didn't want to worry about subbing kids and playing time and pleasing all the parents on the sideline. I wanted to be the parent on the sideline, who was very low maintenance, of course. So, I am fully enjoying that!
Cool new coach who is NOT mom!!

The fall also offers some really fun photo opportunities is the gorgeous changing of the leaves that I did not get to experience while in Hawaii. So, I am a sucker for these. It also just so happens that my dad is up for a visit, so he gets to get in on the fun.

Me, Dad and Mom!

Stayed tuned for more fun fall posts!

life with getting ready for Halloween.

This past weekend we had a blast going to the local Halloween shop and thrift store to check out Halloween costumes and get some ideas. We could not stop laughing as we tried on an array of costumes and hats and were plain out goofy! None of these are the actual costumes that will be worn on the big day, but we sure had fun!

Favorite option, too bad jacket was $60. If only I kept mine I had as a kid.....same one I'm pretty sure!

life with a quick rewind to summer.

Here are a few pictures to share of the fun things we did this summer that kept me away from the computer. Now you be the judge of what you would rather have done. Ya, that's what I thought too!
